Greetings!

I am Rachel Ricci, a doctoral candidate in the department of Political Science at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. My primary areas of concentration are International Relations and Political Theory, but my interests exist at the intersection of these two fields and include:

The epistemological and ontological roots of International Relations; critiques of post-enlightenment (liberal) normative, economic, and political categories (particularly postcolonial critiques); critiques of sovereign subjectivity and advocates of micropolitics (Foucault, Deleuze); rethinking secularism and religion in international politics (Asad, Shakman Hurd); radical democratic theory and agonistic pluralism (Connolly, Honig, Mouffe, Ranciere, Bennett) as resources for rethinking the ethical and normative foundations of claims to the construction of an “international community”; historical and interpretive methodologies.

Please feel free to email me at r-ricci@northwestern.edu.
