Greetings!


I am Rachel Ricci, a doctoral candidate in the department of Political Science at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. My primary areas of concentration are International Relations and Political Theory, but my interests exist at the intersection of these two fields and include:

Nation-state formation and the politics of national identity; IR theorizations of sovereignty; radical democracy and theorists of immanence (Foucault, Asad, Connolly, Deleuze); the metaphysics of International Relations; secularism and religion in International Relations; IR Theory; IR of the Middle East (Arab Nationalism); democratization and authoritarianism (comparative politics literature); and historical and interpretive methodologies.
